When going to parties, we feel the need or are asked to send a gift to a person, whether for a baby shower, birthday party or wedding. Anyway, it is sometimes hard to know what gift to have. Some gifts would be recommended depending on the gender and age of the host and party theme. A 14-year-old boy will be given a different item from a 26-year-old lady of course. Think about the purpose of the party. Is it a graduation? Are people getting married? You may already know what to give when you think of such things. Below is a list of items you could sample for different occasions.

• Father’s Day – Buy a watch, have a funny saying on a mug, a scrapbook with memories of both of you or tickets for a sports game.
• Mother’s Day – Recipe book (if cooking is her hobby), a poem written about her, jewelry or you can watch a movie together.
• A young child gift – An easy book, crayons or markers, stuffed animals, barbies or trucks (or other toys).

Know what the person wants or needs

Knowing what the person needs could be the hard part though critical. You will like to get something that the person likes and is useful, right? Think of the person’s interests; is it soccer, reading or art? You can find out from other people like their sibling, friend of theirs or parents, to secretly give you ideas. You could simply find out from them through a wish list, verbally or on a website.

Keep a budget

Always have a budget. When you have different present options, ensure you are not paying more or less than your budget. Your gift item does not have to be expensive. What counts is the gift. You should not pay too little on the other hand. If low on cash, find a 15 or 20 dollar voucher to a place that they prefer. You could check online for excellent deals.
